Warehouse Relocation Services in Charlotte, NC
Warehouse relocation in Charlotte needs a dock plan as much as a rack plan. E-commerce fulfillment and third-party logistics operations around Steele Creek and Westinghouse Boulevard depend on receiving space that can disappear quickly beneath dismantled steel. We plan where components wait, how trucks load, and which destination rows become available first.
Our work centers on dismantling and reinstalling your existing rack, with new material identified wherever condition or the destination arrangement prevents reuse. As a division of Warehouse Equipment & Supplies Co., we bring a supplying and installing history that began in 1997 to the decisions behind each move.
Warehouse Relocation Starts at the Receiving Doors
The I-85 and I-77 interchange connects major freight movements, but access inside your two buildings determines the rack sequence. A destination CAD layout should reserve unloading space, identify columns, show working aisles, and distinguish reserve storage from outbound staging. Recreating the former rows without those checks can leave the receiving operation short of usable floor.
We compare frame dimensions, beam lengths, connection styles, decking, and documented capacities with the proposed arrangement. Your heaviest pallet, load overhang, and lift truck requirements guide the review. Existing steel is a resource to evaluate, not a requirement to preserve every bay. Replacement components and added positions appear separately so the purchasing decision remains visible.

Pallet Rack Relocation by Receiving Zone
A zone-based sequence links the last picks at the old building with the first usable storage at the new one. Each release depends on an agreed inventory clearance and an available receiving area.
Document each rack family
Record connector details, frame heights, beam sections, accessories, and identification labels before dismantling. Separate unlike systems on the inventory sheet. Mark damaged or unidentified pieces for review rather than allowing them to enter the reuse count by default.
Dismantle into destination bundles
Once your staff clears an agreed zone, the crew takes down the designated rows in sequence. Labeled bundles identify component type, quantity, source row, and intended destination zone. Keep hardware contained and associate each bundle with the loading list.
Assign every freight handoff
The written scope names who supplies trucks, loads steel, secures the shipment, unloads, and provides handling equipment. Inventory transport is listed separately from rack transport. Load order follows the installation sequence instead of whichever bundles reach the dock first.
Rebuild the released section
Installers place the owner’s existing rack against the destination drawing, check alignment and connections, and verify the intended beam elevations. Rack is anchored to the floor. New replacements and compatible additions are installed before the section is reviewed for loading.
Rack Relocation Without a Dock-Space Guess
Inspection continues during teardown because assembled rows can conceal damage. Bent beams, compromised frames, missing connection parts, and questionable identification require a decision before dispatch. Unsuitable components are excluded and replaced with new material; straightening damaged steel is not part of the move.
For phased shipping, identify the stock that must remain accessible and the destination positions needed next. Some aisles or shipping activities may pause while work areas change. We discuss those interruptions directly rather than promising uninterrupted operations. Matching new rack requires connection and capacity checks, even when two systems look alike.
